Automation Architect (Agentic & RPA)

About the role

As an Automation Technical Architect at TELUS Digital, you will partner with Automation Strategists and Business Analysts to transform business process designs into detailed, build‑ready technical architectures for RPA and Agentic AI solutions. You will assess client environments, evaluate existing toolsets, and design scalable, secure automation solutions that align with enterprise standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with strategists and analysts to review process maps, BPMN diagrams, and opportunity assessments.
• Identify automation breakpoints and classify components as deterministic (RPA) or AI‑driven (Agentic AI, LLM workflows).
• Produce system‑level architecture diagrams covering components, APIs, data flows, orchestration engines, queues, AI agents, security controls, and monitoring frameworks.
• Assess current‑state technical environments—including RPA platforms, AI toolsets, API capabilities, data architecture, and cloud infrastructure—to propose optimal automation designs.
• Define integration contracts, deployment topologies (Dev/Test/Prod), and data residency considerations, clearly distinguishing where PII is processed and stored.

Required profile

• Proven experience translating business processes into technical architectures for automation.
• Strong understanding of RPA, Agentic AI, and LLM‑based workflows.
• Ability to balance ideal design with real‑world constraints and client standards.
