Senior Software Engineer (Control Plane & Orchestration)

About the role

We are looking for a senior software engineer to join our client’s team remotely and lead the design and implementation of control‑plane and orchestration platforms. You will work closely with designers, engineers and SREs to deliver highly available, cloud‑native services for a portfolio of US‑based customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build large‑scale distributed systems and platform APIs used by multiple internal and external teams.
• Develop event‑driven and message‑driven architectures with strong emphasis on reliability, idempotency and versioning.
• Implement and operate Kubernetes‑based solutions, including Operators, Controllers, CRDs and multi‑tenant environments.
• Deploy and manage cloud‑native applications in production, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
• Create storage solutions across object, file, block and container storage back‑ends.
• Establish observability pipelines using metrics, logging, tracing and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering teams to define operational standards.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices for automated, repeatable deployments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on control‑plane and orchestration.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Completed a four‑year college degree.
• Proven track record designing and delivering large‑scale distributed systems.

Required skills

• Kubernetes (Operators, Controllers, CRDs, multi‑tenant management).
• RESTful API design with emphasis on reliability and versioning.
• Event‑driven / message‑driven architecture.
• Cloud‑native application deployment and operation.
• Storage technologies (object, file, block, container).
• Observability (metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring).
• Collaboration with SRE teams.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps methodologies.
• Experience with air‑gapped or highly regulated Kubernetes environments.
• Networking infrastructure knowledge.
