About the role

The company is seeking a General Accountant to lead the accounting function within a regulated banking environment in Guatemala. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax and regulatory obligations, and supports internal and external audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and guarantee correct recording of all accounting and financial operations.
• Prepare, review, and timely submit tax declarations and regulatory filings.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to supervisory entities (SAT, IGSS, SIB, etc.).
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of financial statements, ensuring quality and deadline compliance.
• Review and approve accounting entries from accounting, treasury, and human resources areas.
• Ensure compliance with anti‑money‑laundering and counter‑terrorism financing regulations.

Required profile

• Public Accountant or Auditor with a Master’s in Accounting.
• Registered with the SAT (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of experience as General Accountant, Senior Accountant, or Accounting Manager within a regulated Guatemalan bank or similar entity.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Data‑visualization tools such as Power BI or Looker Studio.
• Familiarity with AS400, COGNOS, BIZAGI, and EVOLUTION systems.
