About the role

BDO Guatemala is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing audit and consulting team. The role involves applying international accounting and auditing standards while ensuring compliance with Guatemalan tax legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Apply International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to financial statements.
• Implement International Auditing Standards in audit engagements.
• Prepare and review tax filings, including VAT (IVA) and income tax (ISR) withholdings.
• Maintain accounting books, perform bank reconciliations, and produce financial reports.
• Support the preparation of statutory forms and ensure compliance with the Guatemalan tax code.

Required profile

• Registered Public Accountant (Perito Contador) with the SAT.
• Advanced studies in CPA (minimum fourth year or eighth semester).
• At least three years of accounting experience in an audit firm.
• Strong knowledge of Guatemalan tax law, regulations, and corporate accounting.
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and good interpersonal skills.
