Director General de Expansión Geográfica

About the role

The University of the Valley of Guatemala seeks a senior leader to drive its geographic expansion strategy. The Director General will oversee the development, growth, operation and consolidation of the UVG Enlace network, identifying sustainable and scalable opportunities to extend the university’s presence into new territories, audiences and markets while maintaining high standards of excellence, efficiency and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Define, update and lead the geographic expansion strategy aligned with institutional goals.
• Identify and evaluate territories, segments, services and presence models with growth potential.
• Analyze demand, market conditions, competition and institutional opportunities for each territory.
• Build business cases and scenario analyses to assess viability, sustainability and scalability.
• Design replicable expansion models, documenting standards, criteria and learnings.
• Manage the portfolio of expansion initiatives, creating road‑maps, prioritising projects, allocating resources and defining performance indicators.
• Strengthen commercial and operational capabilities of the UVG Enlace network.
• Lead and develop teams responsible for opening, managing and evolving multiple Enlaces with diverse sizes, characteristics and market priorities.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in strategic expansion, business development or market entry, preferably in higher education or a related sector.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess markets, competition and demand.
• Demonstrated ability to build external alliances and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
