Football Communications Sr Associate

About the role

The Football Communications Senior Associate will support CONCACAF’s football communications and media operations strategy across its competitions and programs. This role involves creating communications materials, coordinating media activities, contributing to editorial planning, and managing the day‑to‑day operations of the online Media Hub.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of media operations for national team and club competitions, including accreditation, venue press, and photographer coordination.
• Support comprehensive football communications strategies for CONCACAF competitions and initiatives.
• Coordinate media relations, respond to inquiries, and cultivate relationships with regional and international media.
• Draft, edit, and translate communications materials such as releases, newsletters, statements, and match notes.
• Monitor media coverage, prepare daily reports for senior management, and identify communication improvement opportunities.
• Manage editorial tasks including content planning, editorial calendars, freelance contributors, and photography agencies.
• Administer and maintain the online Media Hub, ensuring timely publication of competition resources for accredited media.
• Collaborate with internal departments, Member Associations, clubs, host venues, commercial partners, and media organizations to execute communications initiatives.
• Serve as Media Officer for competitions, acting as liaison between CONCACAF, teams, host organizations, and accredited media.

Required profile

• Proven experience in football or sports communications and media operations.
• Strong ability to develop and edit multilingual communications materials.
• Experience coordinating media accreditation, press conferences, and mixed‑zone activities.
• Demonstrated skill in managing editorial calendars and working with freelance contributors.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
