About the role

Alimentos Ideal is seeking a Regional Category Manager to lead the Oils and Fats category across Central America, Mexico, the United States and the Caribbean. The role will drive sustainable growth, profitability and brand strength through deep consumer insight, innovation and effective marketing execution.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead the regional category strategy, ensuring commercial and financial targets are met.
• Analyze consumer behavior, market trends and competitive landscape to uncover growth opportunities.
• Manage annual marketing plans, campaigns, promotions and new‑product launches.
• Lead innovation and product development projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Define brand positioning, communication strategies and portfolio growth initiatives.
• Administer and optimize the regional marketing budget for the category.
• Oversee financial performance, including profitability, pricing strategy and P&L management.
• Align plans with Commercial, Trade Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain and other relevant functions.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as market share, growth and profitability.
• Maintain deep market knowledge through analysis, field visits and constant consumer/client contact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading categories, brands or marketing strategies in a mass‑consumer environment.
• Proven experience in innovation management, product development and portfolio administration.
• Strong analytical skills in market analysis, branding, profitability and P&L management.
• Experience managing regional projects and cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to travel throughout Central America, Mexico, the US and the Caribbean.
