International Roaming Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an International Roaming Engineer to join our International Roaming team. The engineer will be responsible for the end‑to‑end setup, testing and commercial launch of roaming agreements with global partners, ensuring high service quality and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical interface with International Roaming partners and coordinate with roaming engineering teams.
• Support commercial teams in the technical activation of new roaming agreements.
• Manage SIM card exchange, provisioning and network configuration.
• Design, implement and maintain IREG testing environments and configurations.
• Ensure technical readiness of all network elements (HLR/HSS, STP, DRA, SGSN/MME, PGW/UPF, IMS) before testing.
• Perform inbound and outbound roaming tests across 2G/3G CS, LTE, VoLTE and 5G technologies.
• Analyze signaling and traffic flows (MAP, Diameter, SIP) and troubleshoot roaming‑related issues.
• Coordinate and execute TADIG validation for inbound and outbound services.
• Monitor roaming QoS and KPIs, implement corrective actions and handle customer complaints.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, activity reports and operational trackers.
• Participate in automation and optimisation of IREG and TADIG processes, including testing tools and scripts.

Required profile

• Engineering or Master’s degree in Telecommunications or a related field.
• Proven expertise in International Roaming, core network architecture and network signaling protocols.
• Strong knowledge of CS and PS core network elements (HSS, VLR, MME, MSC, SGSN) and administration experience, preferably on Huawei platforms.
• Advanced understanding of signaling protocols such as SS7, ISUP, SIP, MAP, CAP, GTP and Diameter.
• Extensive experience with IREG testing and TADIG validation for inbound and outbound roaming.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities for complex roaming issues.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with external partners and internal teams.
• Ability to work effectively in international, multicultural teams.
