Accounting Manager – Client Accounting

About the role

Teamswell is seeking an Accounting Manager, Client Accounting to deliver high‑quality accounting services for a portfolio of venture‑backed startup clients. Reporting to the Controller, you will act as a secondary point of contact, handling day‑to‑day client communication and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Controller as the secondary contact for assigned client engagements.
• Maintain accurate financial statements, supporting schedules, and a reliable close process.
• Communicate routine matters with founders, finance leads, and operators; escalate complex issues to the Controller.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, preparing reconciliations, workpapers, and reporting packages.
• Apply sound accounting judgment across diverse business models and reporting requirements.
• Help maintain and improve accounting workflows in core GL, billing, AP, payroll, and related finance tools.
• Identify system gaps, data issues, and workflow inefficiencies; leverage AI and automation to enhance efficiency.
