About the role

The Tax Assistant will support BDO Guatemala's tax and audit teams by analyzing client information, preparing workpapers, and ensuring timely, high‑quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and review client tax data to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain workpapers following BDO methodology.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and related documentation.
• Support senior staff in audit procedures and compliance checks.
• Communicate findings clearly and maintain proper documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an Accounting and Public Auditing program, third year or later.
• Minimum one year of experience in tax or accounting, preferably full‑cycle accounting.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations.
• Familiarity with labor, finance and accounting concepts.
• Basic understanding of audit procedures.
• Good written communication and spelling skills.
• Basic English proficiency (desired).
