Carrier Sales Representative

About the role

ModelKite is seeking a proactive Carrier Sales Representative to join its remote team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with carriers, ensuring capacity for shipments, and driving revenue through uncapped commissions.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect new carriers via lead generation, research, and cold calling.
• Manage shipment capacity by negotiating rates and matching loads to carrier capabilities.
• Post loads on various load boards and monitor load status.
• Maintain and nurture existing carrier relationships, understanding their needs and identifying growth opportunities.
• Identify and resolve freight‑related operational issues.
• Collaborate internally on freight rates, market trends, pricing strategy, and account implementation plans.
• Stay informed about shipping lanes, geography, and seasonal market dynamics.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in dispatching, transportation, or logistics within North America (US/CA).
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is a plus.
• Experience using load board platforms such as DAT or Truckstop.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.
