About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented, organized General Accountant with strong analytical abilities to lead daily accounting operations and ensure financial accuracy for a fast‑growing e‑commerce startup.

Key responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily transactions (accounts payable, accounts receivable, banks, inventory, fixed assets) and maintain the general ledger.
• Prepare journal entries, classify expenses and revenues, and perform bank and system reconciliations (WMS/ERP/payment gateways).
• Support monthly close, produce basic financial reports, variance analysis and ensure compliance with internal accounting policies.
• Calculate and file tax declarations (IVA, withholdings, ISR), coordinate with external advisors and keep tax compliance up‑to‑date.
• Register inventory movements, assist in valuation, supervise reconciliations between accounting, e‑commerce platforms and payment processors, and support physical inventory audits.
• Document accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, identify automation opportunities and maintain orderly documentation.
• Prepare audit support, respond to internal and external audit requests and implement audit recommendations.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in e‑commerce, startups, retail, or high‑volume transactional environments.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Experience with complex reconciliations and e‑commerce/payment platforms (desired).
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP or accounting systems.
• High level of organization, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
