Design Systems Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency creates websites and marketing programs for US clients. As a Design Systems Engineer you will own the creation of client‑focused design systems, turning brand guidelines and reference sites into reusable token architectures and component libraries. This senior, systems‑first position requires rapid delivery of robust, scalable solutions across multiple brands.

Key responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming that can be read predictably by the build pipeline.
• Ship core component libraries that remain consistent across entire sites, not just homepages.
• Document the system so developers or automated pipelines can execute it without questions.
• Work simultaneously on several distinct client brands while maintaining structural rigor.

Required profile

• 4+ years of web design experience with proven design‑system work in your portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto‑layout, and variants, focusing on architecture rather than tidy files.
• A portfolio that shows varied visual outcomes but consistent underlying rigor.
• Strong English proficiency and ability to overlap with US business hours.

Required skills

• Figma (variables, component properties, auto‑layout, variants)
