About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of commercial and industrial photovoltaic projects. The role combines field surveys, detailed engineering, and hands‑on supervision to ensure successful project delivery from start‑up to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct electrical site surveys and technical visits.
• Design commercial and industrial PV systems, producing single‑line diagrams, layout plans, calculation memos, and material lists.
• Size strings, inverters, conductors, cable trays, DC/AC panels, and protection devices, considering MPPT windows, voltage limits, voltage drop, ampacity and losses.
• Design grounding, surge protection, interconnection and zero‑injection schemes.
• Verify existing service capacities, transformers, panels and connection points.
• Supervise installation teams, contractors and technical staff on‑site.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, fault diagnosis and preparation of as‑built documentation.
• Prepare technical reports, test protocols and support regulatory filings with utilities.

Required profile

• Graduate in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Active professional registration preferred.
• At least three years of experience in electrical projects, with proven work on commercial/industrial solar PV systems.
• Strong knowledge of DC and AC electrical design and local Guatemalan electrical codes, as well as NFPA 70/NEC best practices.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the country.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Excel.
• Experience using PV design tools such as PVsyst, HelioScope, OpenSolar or ETAP.
