About the role

Ventus Guatemala is seeking a senior Construction Manager to lead renewable energy projects in Esquintla. The role involves overseeing civil, mechanical and primarily electrical works for solar photovoltaic installations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct execution of civil, mechanical and electrical works for solar photovoltaic projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of over 100 personnel, ensuring project objectives are met.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for project management.
• Verify construction complies with engineering drawings, technical specifications and quality standards.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor the project schedule.
• Control costs and participate in hiring qualified and unqualified staff.
• Manage purchase requests and coordinate logistics for equipment, materials and supplies.
• Administer the project budget and identify risks that could cause cost overruns or delays.
• Validate technical documentation, including dossiers and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, health and environmental standards.
• Facilitate effective communication among all teams involved in the construction.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical and/or civil infrastructure projects.
• At least 2 years of specific experience in solar photovoltaic projects.
• Proven experience in building solar parks, transmission lines, electrical substations and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, contractors and subcontractors.
• Willingness to relocate to the project site.
• Valid driver’s license.
