Market Development Representative

About the role

The Market Development Representative will partner with sales teams, dealers and growers to introduce and promote adapted crop products in Guatemala. This role focuses on generating demand, supporting field trials and strengthening customer relationships within the Crop Science division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead innovation initiatives by collaborating with sales, dealers and growers to evaluate and launch new products.
• Support demand generation through field activities, trials, grower interactions and product demonstrations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, dealers and commercial programs.
• Identify market opportunities, assess market size and develop prioritized evaluation plans.
• Assist commercial planning by spotting opportunities and mitigating risks in the Sales Operational Plan.
• Coordinate trial implementation, grower training sessions and product introductions.
• Provide internal stakeholder support and ensure compliance with training and business conduct standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in crop evaluation and introduction, especially melons and watermelons.
• Proven ability to execute demand‑generation activities aligned with business needs.
• Intermediate proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% across the region.

• Excel (intermediate proficiency).
• Microsoft Office suite.
