About the role

The Farm Operative will carry out field activities on a pig farm according to established procedures, ensuring optimal production results and animal welfare. This position involves hands‑on work in feeding, equipment monitoring, health inspection, and biosecurity.

Key responsibilities

• Execute automated and manual feeding of pigs, providing feed and water while minimizing waste.
• Inspect and maintain equipment to guarantee suitable environmental conditions for the herd.
• Monitor animal health and mortality, administer medication when required, and remove sick animals according to protocol.
• Observe pig groups to identify low‑performing individuals and take corrective actions.
• Apply biosecurity measures in the work area to protect animal health.
• Receive and load animals for transport, ensuring correct handling and placement in the value chain.

Required profile

• Secondary education (high school) completed.
• 0‑2 years of experience in a similar farm or livestock role.
• Basic knowledge of animal care and farm operations.

Required skills

• Animal care knowledge.
• Operation of feeding equipment (automated and manual).
• Implementation of biosecurity procedures.
