Project Manager – Proyecto FISAGUA

About the role

The Fundación Ayuda en Acción is seeking a Project Manager to lead the FISAGUA project in Antigua Guatemala. The role involves strategic and operational management of a donor‑funded water and sanitation initiative, ensuring methodological consistency, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with municipal authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the FISAGUA methodology across five phases, from system characterization to the preparation of a municipal improvement plan.
• Supervise two specialized consultants and provide technical‑administrative support for additional water, sanitation, and territorial development initiatives.
• Ensure the quality and timely delivery of technical outputs such as reports, databases, and prioritization matrices.
• Facilitate capacity building for municipal staff and guarantee adherence to project schedules, budgets, and donor reporting standards.
• Integrate cross‑cutting approaches on human rights to water, gender equity, and climate resilience into project activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing and coordinating institutional strengthening and water‑cycle sustainability projects.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee consultants and manage donor‑funded initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of municipal water and sewerage systems in urban and rural contexts.
• Experience working with international donors, particularly the Spanish Cooperation Fund for Water and Sanitation.
• Excellent coordination skills with local authorities and multi‑stakeholder environments.
