Senior Web Designer – Design Systems (Remote, Guatemala City)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency builds websites and marketing programs for clients across the US. As a Senior Web Designer – Design Systems, you will own the creation of client design systems, turning brand guidelines and reference sites into a working system of tokens, variables, modes, and core components that a build pipeline can execute without further input. Precision and consistency are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming that our pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that hold up across an entire site, not just a homepage.
• Document the system so developers or automated pipelines can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands simultaneously, ensuring each maintains distinct visual identity while sharing structural rigor.

Required profile

• 4+ years designing for the web with real design‑system work showcased in a portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto‑layout, and variants, delivering actual architecture rather than tidy files.
• A portfolio demonstrating varied client work underpinned by consistent design‑system rigor.
• Strong English proficiency and ability to overlap with US business hours.
