Systems Administrator (Azure / Cloud Ops) – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Systems Administrator to manage and optimize a Microsoft‑centric cloud platform for a US‑based technology client. You will own the reliability, security, and cost efficiency of Azure services and related end‑user tools, working independently without a ticket‑queue structure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure including compute, networking (VNets, NSGs, VPN, peering), storage, identity (Entra ID/RBAC), monitoring, backup and disaster recovery.
• Manage Azure Virtual Desktop environments – session hosts, image lifecycle, performance tuning and scaling.
• Administer Azure SQL (elastic pools, serverless) – performance, backups, restore testing, and security hardening.
• Drive FinOps initiatives: right‑sizing, idle resource cleanup, reservations, savings plans, budget tracking and cost reporting.
• Support end‑user platform services such as Microsoft 365, Intune, Office suite, printers and Check Point Harmony VPN.
• Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Docker, PowerShell and other scripting tools.
• Provide technical assistance to internal development and QA teams as well as external customers.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience administering Microsoft/Azure environments in production.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering cost reductions and security improvements.
• Fluent written and spoken English for daily communication with US stakeholders.
• Strong documentation and change‑management habits with a proactive ownership mindset.
