About the role

We are looking for a Tax Assistant to join our BDO Guatemala team. The role involves analysing and reviewing client information, ensuring high‑quality, timely deliverables and supporting the overall excellence of our tax and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and review tax‑related data and documentation from clients.
• Prepare and validate tax filings, ensuring compliance with Guatemalan regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of workpapers and audit procedures.
• Coordinate with the accounting and finance teams to support the full accounting cycle.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely delivery of client reports.

Required profile

• Third‑year or higher student in Accounting and Public Auditing or a recent graduate.
• At least 1 year of experience in tax or accounting, preferably with exposure to the full accounting cycle.
• Strong knowledge of Guatemalan tax legislation.
• Familiarity with labor, finance and general accounting concepts.
• Basic understanding of audit procedures and workpaper preparation.
• Basic English proficiency (desired).
