About the role

El Convento Boutique Hotel is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join its finance team in Antigua Guatemala. The role supports the execution of accounting and financial processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions while complying with internal policies and Guatemalan tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in daily accounting operations, including journal entries and ledger maintenance.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Control and file accounting documentation in accordance with company standards.
• Support the purchasing and inventory areas by recording related transactions.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with fiscal regulations.

Required profile

• Perito Contador (mandatory).
• University studies in CPA or Business Administration (desirable).
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an accounting assistant.
• Organized, responsible, analytical with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in purchasing and inventory processes.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Good command of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of accounting records, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable.
