Internal Audit Reporting Specialist – Continuous Audit

About the role

Puma Energy is seeking a senior professional to lead continuous audit reporting across multiple accounting cycles. You will ensure key controls are validated, follow up on critical findings, and support the Data Mining team in developing robust audit routines.

Key responsibilities

• Run Continuous Audit Reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) for cycles such as RTR, C&C, P2P, HR, and Inventory.
• Focus on one accounting cycle for a six‑month period, validating controls per the Internal Control Policy.
• Coordinate with local, regional, and global management to close critical and significant findings.
• Identify risk areas, propose new review routines to the Data Mining team, and suggest preventive controls to IT.
• Develop documentation, a library of common exceptions, and standard recommendations.
• Provide QA and UAT support for audit routine migrations and transformations.
• Lead remote process audits (e.g., Logistics, Fixed Assets, Leases, Director Fees) and manage at least one project per year.
• Collaborate with Lead Internal Auditors on field audits in the Americas, including up to two trips annually.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or auditing.
• 4+ years of senior‑level experience in senior accounting, auditing, controlling, or a Big 4 audit firm.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (upper‑intermediate or higher).
• Experience with ERP environments (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, Microsoft NAV, etc.).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and systematic work style.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
