Jefe de Planta – Líder de Operaciones

About the role

The client of ShopperExperts is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead and optimise the operational chain of its manufacturing facility in Zona 1, Guatemala. The role is critical for ensuring business profitability through efficient cost, inventory, maintenance management and strict KPI compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the plant’s operating budget and control deviations in manufacturing, labour, energy and maintenance costs.
• Ensure financial and physical accuracy of raw material, work‑in‑process and finished‑goods inventories; supervise cyclic counts and stock audits.
• Guarantee execution of the Master Production Schedule while optimising installed capacity.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance plans to maximise machine availability.
• Lead, evaluate and develop supervisors in Production, Maintenance and Warehousing.
• Prepare monthly operational, financial and inventory KPI reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical, Industrial, Food or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s in Business Administration or Supply Chain is a plus).
• 3‑5 years proven experience as Plant Manager, Operations or Production/Logistics leader with supervisory responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, physical vs. ERP variance analysis and lot traceability (FIFO/FEFO).
• Solid understanding of cost structures, budgeting, OEE calculation and waste reduction.
• Proactive attitude focused on identifying inefficiencies and implementing continuous improvements.
