Maintenance Technician 1

About the role

The Maintenance Technician (Level 1) is responsible for executing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems in a power generation plant. The role ensures equipment reliability and supports the plant’s operational availability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on plant components and infrastructure according to established procedures.
• Prepare detailed reports of work performed, documenting maintenance actions in work orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas following the 5S methodology and plant work plans.
• Monitor and report progress on maintenance plans, corrective orders and improvement tasks to meet performance indicators.
• Identify and communicate situations beyond scope that could delay planned maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar maintenance role within the electric power sector.
• Technical high school diploma (Diversificado/Bachiller) in Electricity, Electronics, Electromechanics or Mechanical Engineering.
• Valid Type C driver’s license.
• Residence in Cobán or surrounding areas, or willingness to relocate.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical systems, transformers, electric motors and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with electronics, controls, converters, communications and PLC programming.
• Understanding of hydraulic components such as valves, pumps and accumulators.
• Basic mathematics and physics.
• Proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office.
• Industrial mechanics and metallurgy basics (gears, bearings, torque, lubrication, welding, metals and alloys).
