Major Component Exchange Technician – Wind Turbines

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Major Component Exchange (MCE) Technician to join a dedicated generator exchange campaign on Nordex N90 wind turbines. The assignment runs from September 2026 through March 2027 and focuses on the safe removal, replacement, and commissioning of turbine generators across multiple project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complete generator removal and installation on Nordex N90 turbines, using hydraulic torquing and tensioning tools.
• Support alignment, mounting and mechanical re‑assembly following OEM procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues with voltage testers, multimeters, amp clamps and infrared cameras.
• Carry out commissioning and functional testing of newly installed generators and document results.
• Provide on‑site training for internal and subcontractor technicians and coordinate crane and rigging activities.
• Prepare detailed reports, record work performed and communicate progress to project leads and customers.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, certifications and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on experience with wind turbine major component exchange, preferably on Nordex N90 models.
• Proficiency with hydraulic torquing/tensioning tools, voltage testers, multimeters, amp clamps and infrared testers.
• Experience operating mobile cranes and handling hydraulic/electric torque tools.
• Physical ability to climb turbines up to 140 m and work at height safely.
• High school diploma or equivalent technical qualification and a valid driver’s licence.
• Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel extensively and commit to the full campaign duration.
