About the role

The General Practitioner will provide comprehensive medical care to children and adolescents in community settings, ensuring respectful and humane treatment. This full‑time, onsite position is based in Guatemala and surrounding areas and may be offered on a temporary basis depending on project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical histories, physical examinations, diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments and follow up with patients.
• Coordinate care with the pediatrics team, nursing staff and other health professionals to ensure continuous, high‑quality services.
• Participate in health education activities and promote healthy habits within the community.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to professional ethical standards.

Required profile

• University degree in Medicine with a current professional license.
• Solid training in general medicine and practical experience in direct clinical care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing and other health personnel.
• Commitment to serving vulnerable populations with social sensitivity and teamwork.
• Interest or experience in community health education and promotion.

Required skills

• Operation of a 4x4 vehicle for reaching remote communities.
