Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to manage vendor payments and expense processes for our remote team. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with the ability to work independently during core US Eastern hours.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify and process high volumes of vendor invoices, check requests and expense reports.
• Perform three‑way matching, assign correct GL codes and maintain accurate records in cloud‑based systems.
• Monitor AP aging reports, execute ACH, wire and check runs, and capture vendor discounts.
• Serve as the professional point of contact for suppliers, handling inquiries and resolving billing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal departments via Slack, Zoom and other virtual channels to reconcile statements and support month‑end closing.

Required profile

• Full availability Monday‑Friday 9:00 AM‑5:00 PM EST.
• Previous experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping or general accounting, preferably remote.
• Strong understanding of debits/credits, accrual accounting and GL impact.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of financial data accurately.
• Dedicated quiet workspace with high‑speed internet.
