Automation Engineer – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a remote Automation Engineer to own and evolve the automation infrastructure that drives key business operations for a fast‑growing SaaS startup. You will design, maintain, and optimise workflows that span lead management, CRM processes, reporting and internal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain multi‑step, multi‑branch automation workflows using platforms such as Zapier or Make.
• Develop lead intake, scoring, routing, enrichment and CRM synchronization across multiple systems.
• Manage Salesforce automation, including object relationships, field mapping, conversion logic and activity tracking.
• Create automated reporting pipelines for daily, weekly and monthly business metrics.
• Support internal processes such as candidate screening, meeting intelligence, calendar sync and credential management.
• Write, debug and document Python and JavaScript code within automation platforms.
• Identify improvement opportunities and help shape the long‑term automation strategy.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience building complex automations with Zapier, Make or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce data model and workflow automation.
• Experience integrating AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude) and handling prompt engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript for automation logic.
• Solid understanding of webhooks, API payloads, field mapping and error handling.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
