Collector Agent – Digital Collections

About the role

Western Union is seeking a Collector Agent to join its Digital Collections team. The role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service while balancing business and customer needs in the collection process.

Key responsibilities

• Complete day‑to‑day collection processes and ensure all work items are accounted for.
• Conduct outbound calls to negotiate and collect unpaid debts.
• Process collection payments and ensure proper posting for Accounting.
• Respond to bank inquiries and disputes with comprehensive case reviews.
• Track collection payments and follow up on payment arrangements.
• Support internal and external payment inquiries and engage payment vendors when needed.
• Review accounts for placement with third‑party collection agencies and handle related inquiries.
• Submit and track requests for proof of payments from retail agent locations.
• Perform administrative functions including reporting and maintaining account notes.

Required profile

• Proficient in English (written and spoken, B2+).
• High school or college degree preferred.
• Experience with online payments and banking is a plus.
• Debt collection and negotiation skills are highly preferred.
• Proactive, independent, and able to focus on tasks.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, with strong organizational abilities.
