Electricista Industrial – Hilatura Textil

About the role

Cottontextile is seeking an Industrial Electrician to join its maintenance team in the textile spinning (hilatura) area in Chimaltenango, Guatemala. The professional will guarantee the availability and proper operation of electrical systems, equipment and machinery used in the spinning process through preventive, corrective and diagnostic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical machinery and equipment in the spinning area.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in industrial machines.
• Carry out periodic inspections of motors, panels, connections, sensors and control systems.
• Use electrical schematics, diagrams and measurement tools to troubleshoot issues.
• Work with electric motors, contactors, relays, sensors, variable‑frequency drives and PLC‑based control systems.
• Support root‑cause analysis of recurring failures.
• Respond to electrical emergencies to minimise production downtime.
• Document maintenance actions and fault findings.
• Coordinate with mechanical maintenance and production teams to ensure continuous operations.
• Propose improvements to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.

Required profile

• Technical training in Industrial Electricity, Electromechanics or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and diagrams.
• Knowledge of motor technology and industrial control systems.
• Understanding of electrical safety standards and good maintenance practices.
• Capacity to work under pressure and respond quickly to production‑critical failures.
• Willingness to work onsite in Chimaltenango on rotating shifts.
