Elixir Backend Engineer (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

FullStackFullStack is looking for an experienced Elixir Backend Engineer to join its talent network and work on remote, project‑based assignments for U.S. clients. You will become an integral part of the client’s engineering team, collaborating daily with designers and fellow engineers to deliver high‑quality backend solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Build and support backend services that power mobile applications (React Native).
• Integrate third‑party APIs and ensure reliable software connectivity.
• Work with legacy codebases, improving reliability and maintainability.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization with Docker.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous delivery.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven production experience with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year college degree.
• Strong background in relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, Ecto).
• Experience with API design, third‑party integrations, and legacy system modernization.
• Comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools and remote environments such as GitHub Codespaces.
