About the role

The Pest Control Manager for Animal Production is responsible for protecting livestock health and production efficiency by preventing, monitoring, and controlling pests that can affect animals, facilities, feed, and personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Identify common vectors and pests such as ticks, flies, rodents, and mosquitoes.
• Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to minimize chemical use.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective treatments, including acaricides, insecticides, and physical traps.
• Supervise biosecurity measures in pens, barns, and storage areas.
• Train staff on hygiene practices and zoonosis prevention.
• Record incidents, applied treatments, and outcomes in digital logs.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and production managers to adjust protocols.

Required profile

• Technical education in animal health, agronomy or related fields.
• Certification in pest control and chemical product handling.
• At least one year of experience in livestock or rural environments.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and occupational safety.
• Observant, methodical, and committed to animal welfare and public health.
• Ability to work under demanding conditions (weather, odors, animal contact).
• Willingness for continuous training and technological adaptation.
