Finance Director – Operating Center (Guatemala)

About the role

Western Union is seeking a Finance Director for its Operating Center in Guatemala. You will lead a team of about 100 employees delivering finance and accounting shared services across the Americas, supporting functions such as Settlement Operations, Procurement, Digital Collections, and FP&A.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all Finance & Accounting shared services operations, ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
• Drive process standardisation, simplification and continuous improvement to boost efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
• Establish and manage performance metrics, KPIs, SLAs and operational scorecards.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment, complying with SOX, IFRS/GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives using automation, AI, robotics and digital tools.
• Partner with Corporate Finance, Treasury, Tax, FP&A and Controllership to support business objectives.
• Develop and execute shared‑services strategy, including organisational design and capacity planning.
• Build, develop and retain a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, including leadership in a Finance Shared Service Center.
• Experience leading finance organisations using enterprise ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365 or NetSuite.
• Proven track record in multinational companies with complex operational structures.
• Strong knowledge of settlement and accounting systems, internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, communication and project‑management skills.
