Fixed Asset Accountant – Hybrid (Guatemala)

About the role

We are seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to support worldwide accounting operations and maintain accurate fixed‑asset records for both in‑country and U.S. entities. The role will manage the fixed‑asset subledger, support month‑end close activities, coordinate physical inventories and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain in‑country and U.S. fixed‑asset subledgers, reflecting monthly activity and ensuring accurate perpetual inventory records.
• Perform depreciation calculations, future depreciation projections, and prepare monthly reconciliations.
• Coordinate and execute scheduled physical inventories, load results and reconcile exceptions.
• Support month‑end close by preparing journal entries for depreciation, asset transfers, disposals and other fixed‑asset activity.
• Assist with audit and tax inquiries related to fixed assets and provide support for critical tasks that may require night or weekend availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in fixed‑asset accounting or a related finance role.
• Experience working with international or regional accounting operations, preferably in the retail sector.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred and a valid passport for up to 20 % travel.

Required skills

• Proven knowledge of JD Edwards.
• Understanding of the fixed‑asset lifecycle, including acquisitions, transfers, disposals, depreciation and reconciliations.
• Experience with month‑end close processes and fixed‑asset related journal entries.
• Ability to coordinate physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
