Football Communications Sr Associate

About the role

The Football Communications Senior Associate will support Concacaf’s football communications and media operations across its competitions and programs. Based in Guatemala City, this role contributes to editorial planning, media coordination, and the daily management of the online Media Hub.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute media operations for national team and club competitions, including accreditation, venue press, and photographer logistics.
• Support the development and implementation of comprehensive communications strategies for Concacaf competitions.
• Coordinate media relations, respond to inquiries, and cultivate relationships with regional and international media outlets.
• Draft, edit, and translate communications materials such as releases, newsletters, statements, and match notes.
• Monitor media coverage, prepare daily reports for senior management, and identify communication improvement opportunities.
• Manage editorial tasks including content planning, editorial calendars, freelance contributors, and photography agencies.
• Administer and maintain Concacaf’s online Media Hub, ensuring timely publication of competition resources.
• Collaborate with internal departments, Member Associations, clubs, host venues, commercial partners, and media organizations to execute communications initiatives.
• Serve as Media Officer for competitions, acting as the primary liaison between the Confederation, teams, host organizations, and accredited media.
• Support match‑day and tournament media operations, including press conferences, mixed zones, and flash interviews.

Required profile

• Strong background in sports communications and media operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to translate content.
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including federations, clubs, and media partners.
• Ability to monitor media coverage and produce concise reports for senior leadership.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and editorial planning capabilities.
