Forward Deployed Automation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Automation Engineer to work embedded with our client’s operations and Workforce Management teams. The role involves leading discovery‑driven initiatives, designing intelligent automation solutions, and building production‑ready automations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery by embedding with operations teams, understanding workflows, and identifying automation opportunities.
• Design intelligent automation solutions using RPA, scripting, APIs, AI/LLM integration, and agentic workflow approaches.
• Build and deploy production automations, including scripts, RPA workflows, data pipelines, and AI‑driven integrations.
• Drive stakeholder alignment by communicating technical solutions, business impact, and timelines to non‑technical audiences.
• Enable operational teams by mentoring leads, supporting citizen‑developer initiatives, and sharing best practices.
• Measure and quantify impact, tracking time savings, productivity gains, and developing ROI‑focused business cases.

Required profile

• Business‑level English proficiency (written and verbal).
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in software engineering, automation development, or technical solution engineering.
• Expert‑level proficiency in at least one RPA platform (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, n8n) and Python (or Java/PowerShell) scripting.
• Strong foundation in SQL, data transformation, API integration, and system architecture design.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerised workflows (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated expertise in modern AI‑driven automation, including LLM APIs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, agentic AI workflows, and prompt engineering.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
