About the role

Deel is building Akai, an AI‑driven agent platform that automates the manual, repetitive work of global operations teams. As a Founding Forward‑Deployed Engineer you will join a small, scrappy team inside Deel, working closely with product, operations and engineering to create fast, reliable automation solutions that scale across 170+ countries.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations teams to identify high‑impact manual processes and translate them into automated workflows.
• Design, develop, and ship AI‑powered agents that interact with existing Deel systems without requiring new APIs.
• Iterate quickly on prototypes, gather feedback, and improve reliability and accuracy of agents.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery, from concept and architecture through testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap of Akai, influencing product direction and scaling strategies.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a passion for building tools that eliminate repetitive work.
• Experience working in fast‑moving SaaS environments and delivering production‑grade software.
• Ability to work autonomously, communicate clearly with cross‑functional teams, and thrive in a startup‑like culture.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience building automation or agent‑based systems.
• Familiarity with AI/ML techniques for workflow automation.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript).
• Understanding of APIs, web services, and integration patterns.
