About the role
Moder is seeking an experienced English‑speaking Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations for its growing Guatemala site. The role partners with Operations and Business leaders to strengthen employee engagement, compliance, and overall performance in a high‑volume BPO environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all HR functions for the Guatemala location.
- Partner with Operations and Business leadership on workforce and people strategies.
- Manage complex Employee Relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with Guatemalan Labor Law and related regulations.
- Support compliance activities with MINTRAB, IGSS, IRTRA, INTECAP, labor inspections, audits, contracts, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor workforce indicators such as attrition, absenteeism, attendance, headcount, adherence, and engagement.
- Develop and implement retention and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and career progression.
- Coach managers on employee relations, performance, and people‑management matters.
- Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies and procedures across operations.
- Collaborate with Payroll and Finance on payroll, benefits, compensation, and workforce planning.
- Prepare and present HR metrics, dashboards, trends, and insights to leadership.
- Assist with organizational changes, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage and develop the local HR team.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Labor Relations, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- At least 5 years of HR experience in a BPO, Call Center, Contact Center, Shared Services, or similar high‑volume operational environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of Guatemalan Labor Law, labor compliance, statutory benefits, disciplinary management, and Employee Relations.
- Demonstrated experience handling Employee Relations cases, workplace investigations, and grievance processes.
