Junior Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer I

About the role

Datamoover is seeking two Junior Microsoft Fabric Data Engineers to join a data modernization initiative. This hands‑on position offers the chance to gain practical experience building data pipelines, notebooks, and transformation logic on the Microsoft Fabric platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop data transformations from the Bronze to the Silver layer in Microsoft Fabric.
• Build and maintain Fabric notebooks, pipelines, and data‑processing routines.
• Write SQL and T‑SQL scripts for transformation and validation.
• Work with Lakehouse and Delta‑based structures, applying cleansing, standardisation, and deduplication rules.
• Validate source‑to‑target data completeness and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot failed loads and transformation processes.
• Participate in testing, deployment, reconciliation and defect resolution.
• Use Git and follow established development and deployment practices.
• Document the data processes and components you develop.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers, architects and project leadership.

Required profile

• Strong technical foundation with a genuine interest in data engineering.
• Knowledge of SQL, T‑SQL, ETL/ELT concepts and data quality principles.
• Familiarity with relational databases, Microsoft SQL Server and Azure data services.
• Basic understanding of data lakes, Lakehouse architectures or dimensional data concepts.
• Ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail and follow engineering standards.
