MEAL Manager – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The MEAL Manager will lead monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for CRS projects in Guatemala and El Salvador. Reporting to the project team, the role ensures data quality, supports learning cycles and guides partners to improve impact for vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and lead implementation of all MEAL activities across both countries, adhering to CRS standards, donor requirements and industry best practices.
• Facilitate feedback and response mechanisms, collect and analyse data, and produce timely reports for decision‑making.
• Coordinate consultations with government and stakeholders to assess MEAL system strengths, gaps and capacity‑building needs.
• Provide technical assistance and mentoring to government MEAL staff and local partners, integrating project tools into national systems.
• Supervise field inspections, track resource use and ensure documentation complies with agency and donor guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development, Economics, Statistics, Systems Engineering, Information Systems or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum five years of experience in project support, preferably in MEAL for an NGO.
• Experience working with partners, community engagement and supervising staff.
• Familiarity with child protection, family‑based care or early childhood development programmes is desirable.
