Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) – Remote, 30 hrs/week

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Medical Virtual Assistant to support the operational health of a busy chiropractic clinic. The role is remote and requires sharp, detail‑oriented individuals who can manage insurance, billing and workflow gaps with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance and ensure accurate documentation shortly after check‑in.
• Review denied claims, identify reasons, and assist with reprocessing.
• Process Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents and clear backlogs.
• Resolve outstanding patient balances and coordinate follow‑up actions.
• Support claims processing for Cigna and Veterans Affairs.
• Coordinate vendor payments and ensure timely check issuance.
• Monitor SOAP note completion and compliance.
• Track missed and canceled appointments, analyzing patterns that affect revenue.
• Prepare operational reports on balances, appointments, EOBs, and denied claims.
• Identify workflow gaps and recommend practical solutions to improve clinic efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, claims, denied claims, EOB processing, and patient balance resolution.
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD‑10 coding.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently on a Mac OS platform.
• High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and strong problem‑solving abilities.
