About the role
The Selva Maya II project seeks a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer to design, coordinate and implement the project’s planning, monitoring, evaluation, learning and accountability mechanisms. Based in Flores, Petén, the role supports the Regional Coordination team and ensures timely, systematic measurement of project performance according to IUCN and KfW standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the project’s results matrix, indicators, and monitoring plans.
- Design, update and manage the Annual Operational Plan (POA) and keep it current in SmartSheet.
- Collect, systematize and analyse baseline and ongoing data using digital tools (KoboToolbox, ODK, Survey123).
- Prepare periodic progress reports and update the IUCN project portal.
- Coordinate with UCP members, provide technical support for POA budgeting, and supervise sub‑project monitoring plans.
- Identify corrective actions and recommendations to ensure achievement of targets.
Required profile
- Professional with experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning for development or conservation projects.
- Familiarity with IUCN and KfW monitoring standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and external partners.
Required skills
- SmartSheet for project planning and reporting.
- KoboToolbox, ODK or Survey123 for digital field data collection.
