About the role
The Farm Operative will carry out daily field activities on a pig farm, following established procedures to ensure optimal animal health, feed efficiency, and overall farm performance.
Key responsibilities
- Execute both automated and manual pig feeding processes, providing feed and water while minimizing waste.
- Monitor and verify equipment operation to maintain suitable environmental conditions for the herd.
- Inspect animal health and mortality rates, ensuring timely medication administration or removal of affected pigs.
- Observe specific pig groups to identify and address low‑performing individuals.
- Implement biosecurity measures within the work area to protect animal health.
- Receive, load, and transport animals according to standard procedures, ensuring correct placement in the production chain.
Required profile
- Secondary education (high school) completed.
- 0–2 years of experience in a similar farm or livestock role.
- Basic knowledge of animal care and handling.
