Technical Project Manager

About the role

As a Technical Project Manager within TELUS Digital, you will drive the delivery of complex software initiatives across the region, acting as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders. You will ensure projects are executed on time, within scope, and on budget while fostering collaboration in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and manage software development projects, including applications, migrations, and transformation initiatives.
• Guide projects through all phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Align business requirements with technical implementation and manage stakeholder communication.
• Monitor scope, timeline, cost, and quality, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Produce and maintain project documentation, governance artifacts, and status reports.
• Utilize project management tools such as Jira for work tracking and collaboration.
• Support budget planning, capital and operational expenditure tracking, and reporting.
• Coordinate with external vendors and manage contract and procurement activities when required.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and support hybrid or Agile project environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 3‑4 years of experience delivering complex software projects (application development, migrations, transformation).
• 2‑3 years of experience leading projects through all phases.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMI, Agile, hybrid).
• Proficiency with web‑based project management tools.
• Working knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts, data analysis).
• Demonstrated analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
