Upper Elementary Language Arts Teacher (Grades 4‑6) – C2 English

About the role

We are seeking an inspiring Upper Elementary Language Arts Teacher for grades 4‑6 at a prestigious bilingual school in Guatemala City. The role requires C2 English proficiency and a passion for literature, critical writing, and language development.

Key responsibilities

• Teach English Language Arts—including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and literature—to 4th, 5th, and 6th‑grade students.
• Design engaging, rigorous, and interactive lesson plans aligned with high‑profile educational standards.
• Foster critical thinking, effective communication, and a love for reading in a structured, positive classroom environment.
• Assess and monitor student progress while collaborating closely with school leadership and parents.

Required profile

• English proficiency at C2 level (written and spoken) – all instruction delivered in English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, English/Literature, Pedagogy, or an equivalent international teaching credential (TEFL, TESOL, etc.).
• 1–2+ years of proven experience teaching Language Arts or English to upper‑elementary students, preferably in a top‑tier bilingual institution.
• Current residence in Guatemala City or immediate, self‑funded relocation plans.

What we offer

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 07:00 AM – 03:20 PM.
• Format: 100% on‑site teaching in Guatemala City.
• Compensation: Monthly salary Q7,500 – Q9,000 GTQ (approximately $975 – $1,170), commensurate with qualifications and experience.
