Data Engineer

About the role

The Data Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing data pipelines that connect Campero USA source systems (data platform, SAP, ADP, OLO and others) to the analytical environment. The role ensures data is delivered complete and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, optimize, and monitor all SSIS packages that move data from source systems.
• Operate and ensure correct execution of data load jobs in SQL Server Agent.
• Identify and resolve pipeline failures quickly.
• Document integration flows and system dependencies.
• Maintain connectivity with source systems (POS platform, SAP, ADP, OLO, Procore, CoStar) and build or modify connectors as needed.
• Validate extracted data for completeness and consistency.
• Administer staging tables and the data warehouse in SQL Server, optimizing slow queries and managing indexes.
• Execute data‑correction scripts and support basic transformation stored procedures.
• Collaborate with the Analytics Engineer and external Data Architect on new flows and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Informatics or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–2 years of experience as a Data Engineer, junior DBA, or ETL developer.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• SQL Server – complex queries, stored procedures, indexing, performance tuning.
• SSIS / Integration Services – building and maintaining packages.
• SQL Server Agent – scheduling and monitoring data load jobs.
• Basic to intermediate Python.
• Familiarity with POS or ERP systems such as SAP, ADP, OLO, Procore, CoStar.
