Asistente de Auditoría – Guatemala

About the role

BDO Guatemala, one of the largest audit and consulting firms worldwide, is looking for a motivated Audit Assistant to join its local team. The role supports the audit team by preparing and drafting work papers, following procedures appropriate to the candidate’s knowledge level, and communicating progress and any issues to the senior auditor.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and elaborate audit work papers for assigned areas.
• Execute audit procedures according to the candidate’s level of expertise.
• Report progress and identified difficulties promptly to the senior auditor.
• Apply International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and relevant Guatemalan tax legislation.
• Utilize International Standards on Auditing (ISA) in daily tasks.

Required profile

• At least a third‑year student of Public Accounting.
• Between 6 months and 1 year of experience in audit.
• Fundamental knowledge of accounting, finance and tax matters.
• Basic understanding of audit procedures.
• Strong written communication for work papers.
• Professional presentation and attire.

Required skills

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Familiarity with Guatemalan tax legislation.
• Understanding of International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
