Senior NetSuite Developer

About the role

Plan A Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior NetSuite Developer to join its Financial Business Systems team. You will design, build, and test custom NetSuite solutions that drive business value while participating in an on‑call rotation to keep critical systems running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a technical SME, partnering with Finance, Treasury, Transaction Operations, and Product to translate complex business requirements into scalable, SOX‑compliant designs.
• Architect, develop, and optimize custom NetSuite solutions (SuiteScript 2.x, SuiteFlow, custom records) supporting high transaction volumes across GL, AR, and AP.
• Own and enhance integrations between NetSuite and systems such as Coupa, Concur, and Stripe using SuiteTalk, RESTlets, and middleware, ensuring idempotency and robust error handling.
• Execute rigorous unit, integration, and performance testing to meet SLAs and maintain segregation of duties.
• Support production incidents, act as incident commander when needed, and participate in the on‑call rotation for rapid issue resolution.
• Enforce SDLC best practices, including Git source control, code reviews, and documented change management (SuiteBundler, configuration logs) to satisfy SOX audit requirements.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years focused on NetSuite development.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and experience working in a SOX‑compliant environment.
• Proven ability to design high‑performance, scalable solutions for financial modules.
• Self‑driven, quality‑focused, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced FinTech setting.

Required skills

• NetSuite platform expertise (SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, SuiteTalk, RESTlets, Map/Reduce, User Event scripts).
• Java programming.
• Integration middleware and API design.
• Git version control and standard SDLC practices.
• Understanding of SOX controls and segregation of duties.
