Accounting Manager

About the role

Mavi is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead end‑to‑end accounting operations for its US‑based clients. You will manage a team of accountants, ensure accurate financial reporting, and drive process improvements in a fast‑growing startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Record‑to‑Report (R2R) processes for US clients, overseeing month‑, quarter‑, and year‑end close cycles.
• Manage and mentor a team of accountants, fostering professional growth and high‑quality deliverables.
• Review and finalize financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Oversee reconciliations, variance analysis, and timely issue resolution.
• Serve as primary point of contact for US stakeholders, building strong relationships with Controllers, CFOs, and founders.
• Partner with finance leaders to provide reporting insights and support decision‑making.
• Implement and drive standardisation, automation, and AI‑enabled process improvements.
• Ensure audit readiness and coordinate interactions with external auditors.
• Design and scale robust accounting processes suited to high‑growth startup environments.

Required profile

• 6+ years of end‑to‑end accounting experience with strong US GAAP expertise.
• Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting teams.
• Deep understanding of financial reporting, close cycles, and internal controls.
• Proven ability to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑growth startup settings.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, especially with US clients.
• CA / CPA (or equivalent) strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
